Review of "Smoking Mirror and Other Stories"

Reading "Smoking Mirrors" is one of the reasons I enjoy reading self published authors. This anthology of stories were intriguing, distinct, and surreal in many instances. Only with one did I have a bit of time figuring out what's going on, and another a bit muddled, but I still had fun reading because the author is a very good wordsmith. (Otherwise, it was just short of getting five stars.)

I could see a couple of the stories being expanded upon with potential to be novels. What's good about the book as well is that it hinted a tad bit in the same universe the way the science fiction is presented in Snowcrash. Science Fiction/Dystopia doesn't have to be space opera, cyberpunkish, or the like, but thought provoking or fun.
