Alanson or as some knew him as just “Al” Was a hard worker all his life. He believed in working an honest living and being kind to others. He was a great friend to many and would always lend a helping hand to those who needed it.
He was a great father to me, one of his little girls. I’ve been a daddy’s girl all my life. I loved him dearly. He was always kind and gentle to me. He always had a big smile for me and the biggest hugs whenever I needed them. He meant the world to me.
I know that my other siblings, as well as his many stepchildren probably feel the same about him. Even when he couldn’t always be with us in our lives, he was always there in some other way to let us know how much he loved us.
Alanson had many interests in his life. He had a love of the great outdoors. He loved fishing, camping, and hunting in his home state of Arkansas. He loved riding motorcycles in his younger days. He was the owner/operator of his own Radiator businesses in California and Arkansas. He had a love of cooking and cooked the most delicious food. I loved his homemade weekend breakfast’s growing up. Family members remember waking up to the smell of his homemade buttermilk pancakes, sausage and gravy, grits, and fluffy biscuits and fresh fruits from his garden.
Alanson was a United States Navy veteran and he had many wonderful memories of his time in the Navy with his older brother Tom, who served with him on the USS Coral Sea aircraft carrier from 1959-1963; Division: V-1 & V-6
